2020 Preaching Conference webinar ready for viewing on MBCB web site
JACKSON, Miss. (Special) — The webinar of the 2020 Mississippi Baptist Preaching Conferences earlier this year is now available on the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) web site.
“Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the preaching conferences at each of our three Baptist institutions of higher learning had to be cancelled, but we were able to hold a Zoom webinar,” said John Pace, MBCB director of pastor/leadership development.
The conference featured the study of the Old Testament books of Amos and Hosea. Study leaders and focal topics were:
• Daniel Caldwell, vice president for Christian development and church relations/professor of religion at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, on the biblical backgrounds and contexts of Amos and Hosea.
• Ronald Meeks, chair of the department of biblical studies/professor of biblical studies at Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, on preaching/teaching ideas and outlines from Amos and Hosea.
• Wayne VanHorn, dean of the school of Christian studies and the arts/professor of Christian studies at Mississippi College in Clinton, on the theological messages and themes of Amos and Hosea.
The webinar video, PowerPoint presentation, and study materials are available at tinyurl.com/preachingconf.
