Churches in six Southwest Mississippi counties to come together for Go Tell Crusade

All are invited to the Go Tell America Crusade with evangelist Rick Gage October 19–22 at King Field at Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Admission is free.

The Crusade has brought together dozens of churches from multiple denominations across Southwest Mississippi to prepare for and promote the event. With a different Gospel-centered message, testimonies, and worship music each night, people of all ages and walks of life are welcome to attend any or all nights.

Plans for the Southwest Mississippi Go Tell Crusade began more than a year ago.

“I had a burden on my heart about how I could reach Lincoln County for the cause of Christ across denominational and racial lines,” said David Williams, associational mission strategist with the Lincoln Baptist Association.

When Gage contacted him, Williams took it as confirmation from God and seized the opportunity.

“We have an opportunity to make an impact in Lincoln County like we’ve never seen before,” said Williams. “Let’s let go, let God, and say yes to see people come together for the cause of Christ. I don’t want any more of our young people to die, by gun violence, suicide, etc. This can be the beginning of a change across the board with our young people, families, etc. The time is urgent. We’re closer today than we were yesterday to the end of times.”

In the 14 months leading up to this Crusade, Williams has seen pastors and churches of various denominations, businesses, and individuals come together to turn a dream given by God into a reality.

“God’s presence and power has been evident every step of the way. I believe we have a divine moment to see a movement of God like Southwest Mississippi has not seen in our lifetime,” said Williams.

Churches of all denominations representing Lincoln, Lawrence, Franklin, Copiah, Pike, and Amite counties are working together to bring the Gospel to Southwest Mississippi at this four-night event.

Schedule

The band Rush of Fools from Birmingham will lead worship each night beginning at 7 p.m.

  • Sunday: Evangelist Rick Gage, president and founder of Go Tell Ministries
  • Monday: Evangelist Rick Runkles of Levelland, Texas, and Cameron Tate, executive director of Bridging the GAP Ministries in Jackson
  • Tuesday: Evangelist and Forge speaker Adrian Despres, former chaplain for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, and Rev. Luther Martin of Pearl, evangelist and founder of Luther Martin Ministries
  • Wednesday: Youth Emphasis Night with Rick Gage — featuring free pizza for all students and an exciting car giveaway sponsored by Stan King Super Store of Brookhaven; one lucky student will leave with a car that night. Must be a student and present to win.

“ON TRACK” motivational rallies will also be conducted at area schools in the days leading up to the final night. These rallies are not religious programs but focus on making right choices.

“This has nothing to do with religion, but it has everything to do with being a winner in the game of life,” said Gage, a former football coach. “And taking a stand against anything that could ruin or destroy your future, your mind, or your body.”

Gage said the need to hear the good news of Jesus is huge across America, with most communities today being made up of 70–90 percent unchurched, lost individuals.

“The need for this type of campaign and the need to reach people for Christ has never been greater,” he said.

Williams is asking Christians to be in fervent prayer over the final preparations for the Crusade.

“Pray for individuals who will attend. Pray for those you will invite by name. Pray that the weather will be perfect. Pray for the speakers and the worship team. Pray for counselors, security, ushers, medical personnel, school personnel, student school assemblies, and all logistical decisions being made. Pray for each night, that a divine Gospel message, anointed by the Holy Spirit, be heard by everyone who needs to hear it,” he said.

This Crusade is all about Jesus, Williams said. It’s not about an individual person or group of people; it’s about living and doing the will of God. It’s not about a denomination; it’s about building the Kingdom of God.

“The excitement and energy flowing through and around Lincoln County is magnetic. We need to invite any and every person we meet to this Crusade,” said Williams.
