As we prepare for the 189th Mississippi Baptist Convention on October 28–29, 2025, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness and the rich history we share as Mississippi Baptists. For more than 80 years, First Baptist Church, Jackson, has graciously hosted our Annual Convention, providing a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and Kingdom work. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and hospitality, and we celebrate the many memories and ministry moments made possible by their generosity.
This year, our Annual Convention will take place at Broadmoor Church in Madison. The change was prayerfully decided by the messengers of the Mississippi Baptist Convention and reflects the collective voice of our convention family. We are excited for this new chapter and look forward to gathering at Broadmoor, trusting that God will continue to use our time together to connect, equip, and encourage churches across our state.
We remain very grateful for First Baptist, Jackson, and their ongoing support and friendship, knowing God has more in store for our future collaboration. As we move forward, we do so with gratitude for the past and anticipation for what God will do.
Why the Annual Convention Matters
The Annual Convention is more than just a meeting. It’s a time for Mississippi Baptists to come together, celebrate what God is doing, and seek His direction for the future. It’s a space to connect with fellow believers, gain resources, hear inspiring messages, and make decisions that impact churches and ministries across our state. Whether you’re a pastor, church leader, or member, your presence and participation matter.
Mississippi Baptist leaders are also actively seeking to strategically adapt to the changing environment around us so we can most effectively serve the Lord and our communities. Throughout Scripture, we see the importance of strategy in carrying out God’s mission. For example, in John 4, Jesus intentionally went through Samaria to reach people others might have overlooked, showing us the value of purposeful planning in ministry.
In that same spirit, our convention space will look a lot different this year, offering new resources and opportunities for Mississippi Baptists. More details on these exciting changes will be shared soon!
Other Important Changes for 2025
In addition to the location change, please note these updates for this year’s Annual Convention:
- Online Pre-Registration: All messengers and guests will pre-register online. Each church will receive instructions by mail on how to use their SBC Workspace account to register and see their eligible number of messengers.
- Resolutions Submission: All resolutions must be submitted to the Resolutions Committee between September 28 and October 18, either by mail or email. Submitters must verify their church membership and eligibility. Forms are available here.
For more details on these changes, you can read the original article here.
We invite you to join us at Broadmoor this October as we continue the work God has called us to do — together. Let’s celebrate our shared history, embrace new opportunities, and look forward to all that God has in store for Mississippi Baptists.
