The New Albany-Union County Christmas Parade, themed “Yuletide Time Machine,” was called a spectacular success by organizers this year, featuring over 90 entries ranging from floats to local pageant winners and homecoming courts. The parade, broadcasted live by Ace Fiber, attracted over 24,000 views across the country, showcasing the event’s wide appeal and community spirit.
This year’s Grand Marshals were The Clark Family and Riverside Traffic Systems LLC. Participants included various businesses, organizations, youth groups, religious entities, and county and city officials. “It was truly a community-driven event,” Community Development Director Billye Jean Stroud said.
Liberty Baptist Church won first place with the float title, “Faithful Through the Ages.”
The Dapper Co. & North Mississippi Mobile Imaging took second place with “Grinch Through the Decades.”
In third place was thePerforming Arts Center of New Albany with the theme, “50’s Soda Shop.”
“A huge thank-you to everyone who participated in this year’s parade,” Stroud said. “Your creativity with the entries amazes us each year, making for a truly wonderful event. We look forward to seeing what you come up with next year! Special thanks to our volunteers who helped with the parade, along with the New Albany Police Department and New Albany Fire Department.”
