The Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) is pleased to announce the hiring of three new employees, who will begin their service in June.

Mandy Phillips has been named a consultant in collegiate ministries. She previously served as director of the Mississippi College Baptist Student Union, beginning in January 2016. While there, she led strategy, staff and leadership development, discipleship, and evangelism efforts. She also oversaw finances, campus communication, church relations, and several teams: Vision, Bridges, and Campus Connection.
Before that role, Phillips served as associate BSU director at Mississippi College. Her previous positions include: resource director for the Conemaugh Valley Baptist Association; missional living catalyst for the Baptist Resource Network, West Region, Pennsylvania/South Jersey Baptist Association; collegiate ministry specialist and associate director at the University of Tennessee; associate director of Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Louisiana State University; college minister, young adult minister, and missionary with the North American Mission Board and Baptist Convention of New England; and metro intern and director of healthcare students with the New Orleans Metro Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
Phillips holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Carey University and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She, her husband, and their children are active members of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton. She will begin her role on June 1.

Dustin Tutor has been appointed BSU director at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He is a graduate of Itawamba Community College, Jones College, and William Carey University and plans to complete his seminary degree later this year.
Tutor most recently served as associate pastor and minister to families at Bayou Sara Baptist Church in Saraland, Ala. His previous ministry roles include service at churches in Petal, Smithville, Oxford, Pontotoc, Fulton, Okolona, Senatobia, and Tupelo. He also served as associate BSU director at Itawamba and worked as a summer staffer and offseason contract worker at Gulfshore Baptist Assembly the summer before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Tutor is married and has three children. He will begin his service on June 1.

Braelyn Weaver has been hired as a consultant in the Women’s Ministries/Woman’s Missionary Union department of the MBCB. She holds a Master of Divinity in ministry to women from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian ministry with an emphasis in women’s ministry and a minor in biblical studies from Oklahoma Baptist University.
Weaver’s ministry experience includes serving as a student ministry intern at Hebron Church in Denham Springs, La.; residential life staff at Oklahoma Baptist University; and ministry intern at Marsha Road Church in Altus, Okla. She also has work experience as a head barista at a coffee café, agency director with Farmer’s Insurance, and admissions office assistant at New Orleans Seminary. In addition, she brings extensive volunteer ministry experience.
Weaver is relocating to Mississippi with her husband, Wyatt, a physical therapist, and their dog, Nola. She will begin her service on June 16.
