The new Mississippi Baptist Convention Board logo was revealed by board executive director-treasurer Shawn Parker during the Oct. 25 evening session of the 2022 Mississippi Baptist Convention Annual Meeting at First Church, Jackson.

The fresh design, which signifies the River of Life that is Jesus Christ and contains an abstract “M” and “B” for “Mississippi Baptist,” replaces the logo in use by the board for the past 20 years.

Parker made the introduction of the new logo at the beginning of his message to those in attendance at the convention’s 186th annual meeting. The final count of registered messengers for the 2022 meeting was 759.

Scripture reading for the session, John 20:19-23, was presented by Jennifer Powell, member of First Church, Byram. Testimony was given by Eddie Jones, pastor of Victory Temple Church, Greenville.

Choral praise was provided by the combined choirs of Mississippi Gulf Coast churches, including:

— Bay Vista Church, Biloxi.

— Bel-Aire Church, Gulfport.

— First Church, Bay St. Louis.

— First Church, Biloxi.

— First Church, Ocean Springs.

— First Church, Wiggins.

— Four Mile Creek Church, Moss Point.

Session benediction was prayed by Jim Futral, emeritus executive director-treasurer of Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.
