Clear Branch Church, Florence: Homecoming on October 13, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am. We will commemorate our church’s legacy, followed by a communal lunch after the services. Established circa 1897, Clear Branch Baptist Church has been a cornerstone of faith for approximately 127 years. We extend an invitation to explore the church’s storied past. If you have ancestors buried in Clear Branch Cemetery across the street, we encourage you to join us and share their history and their impact on our community.

McAdams Church, Sallis: 175th Anniversary Celebration & Renewal on Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m., featured speaker Alex McFarland, music by the Bros.4, potluck lunch; Youth Rally on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m., featured speaker Alex McFarland, supper to follow, no cost.

Wisconsin Baptists extend
prayers to those affected
by Madison school shooting
MADISON, Wis. (BP) — A shooting at a Christian school that left three dead, including the shooter, has prompted calls for prayer by local churches. “My heart is breaking right now,” Pastor Bob Ray of East Madison Baptist Church began in an email this afternoon to his congregation. “… Pray for God’s healing power for those who have been wounded, for God’s comfort, for families who have lost loved ones, and for all the students, staff, and families who have been traumatized.” Ray’s wife, Carla, teaches at a nearby public school and has at least two coworkers whose children attend Abundant Life Christian School. “I am also sure many of you know families who have been directly affected,” he wrote. In addition to the three deceased, six more were injured. It is believed the shooter was a student at the school.
