Special concert to close out SMACK children’s worship camp

JACKSON, Miss. (Special) — The 140 participants in the 2023 Mississippi Baptist Summer Music and Arts Camp, known as SMACK, will premiere Celebration Station, a new children’s musical from Llilenas Music, during the camp’s closing worship concert on July 14at Baptist-affiliated William Carey University in Hattiesburg

SMACK is sponsored annually by the Worship Ministries Department of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and is being led this year by event coordinator Hope Smith. SMACK is designed to be a worship leadership and discipleship camp for children who have completed third through sixth grades.

“SMACK is an action-packed week,” said Slater Murphy, director of the Worship Ministries Department. “Each year we see children come to faith in Jesus Christ.”

The Celebration Station performance will begin at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Fine Arts building on the Carey campus. The concert is open to all and no reservations are required.
