The State Literacy Missions & Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps Conference will take place July 18-20 at Garaywa Camp & Conference Center in Clinton. Basic Workshops will be offered for new volunteers in the areas of Adult Reading and Writing (ARW), English as a Second Language (ESL), or Tutoring Children and Youth (TCY). General Sessions will include a variety of topics for teaching English including determining reading levels, using Google Docs for interactive classroom activities, and using holiday lessons as task-based learning activities. Christian Job Corps volunteers will have a specialized track throughout the weekend. Everything learned during the conference can help your church make an impact in your community.
